Connie's Trunks gives tired old trunks new life from the beautiful shores of Sebago Lake, Maine.

Antique Trunk #429 - Beautiful 1860s Dome Top Trunk, Original Protective Hardware, Deep Divided Tray, Solid Brass Lock

What a beautiful trunk! Originally it was covered in leather. Once we removed the old, damaged leather we discovered this beautiful wood. The deep wood tone, darker metal trim, along with the deep divided tray, makes this a rare piece. It's truly a beautiful historical piece of furniture.

Since dome top trunks were made for the wealthier traveler and were designed to always end up on the top of the trunk pile for safekeeping, this trunk weathered the travel well. The original leather covering was pretty durable, providing protection for more than 150 years . . . unreal.

The beautiful brass lock is in great condition but does not have a key.
The tray is original and even has a storage compartment with a wooden flap. The square compartment on the right was originally used for safekeeping of a traveler's hat.

The replacement straps are from

One handle is original, while the other is a replacement from an old trunk. They both look great and both have original handle hardware.

The outside and inside have several coats of Polyurethane for protection, and then were hand rubbed for added beauty.

This trunk measures 30 inches wide, 19.5 inches front to back, and is approximately 23 inches tall at the highest point.

The bottom corner rollers help move it around empty or full. We had to replace one missing roller. The bottom corner roller hardware is stamped PAT-D NOV 1855.

Price includes packaging, shipping, and insurance to any of the 48 contiguous states.

Price: $650
