Very Well-Built, Medium Size Trunk with All Original Hardware, Including Brass Lock

This is a popular size trunk because it offers a lot of versatility. All the hardware is original and in great condition.

The rich color tone and characteristics of the wood add to its overall uniqueness and beauty. This is a beautiful piece of furniture. It’s heavier than most trunks this size due to the thickness of the wood and the abundance of protective hardware. What a treasure! This came from a family that was downsizing and just didn’t have the room.

Outside

1. The top has a slight curve.
2. The built-in metal straps helped to keep the trunk secure during travel.
3. The beautiful brass lock is original and comes with a key. The lock stays in place with the key but it doesn’t like to lock.
4. The lift located over the lock is used to lift the lid when opening the trunk.
5. The sides include hardware that keeps the top and bottom of the trunk locked securely in place for safe travel. We have to remember that these trunks were used before suitcases became popular.
6. The corners are protected with double hardware.
7. The ends of the hardwood slats are in beautiful condition.
8. The three large rear hinges roll over the back edge for edge protection.
9. The leather handles are original along with the original handle hardware.
10. The #4 waffle design hasps work great.
11. The handle hardware is original. We replaced the dried leather handles with beautiful leather handles from brettunsvillage.com.

Inside

1. The inside is in fantastic condition, offering a great storage area.

General Information

Both outside and inside are protected with a tung oil mixture and coat of satin polyurethane. Lastly, it is waxed and hand rubbed for added softness.

This trunk measures inches 30.5 inches wide, 20 inches front to back, and 22 inches tall (measurements include hardware).
