Medium, Flat Top Trunk with Original Hardware and Working Corbin Lock & Key

Here’s another beautiful trunk! We love the wood color tone difference between the slats and trunk body. The metal trim is wider than most, which is a nice look.

This is a great size trunk for the average size room. The top has a VERY slight curve, so we consider it a flat top.

Outside

1. The top and bottom hardware include rollers. Their purpose was to protect the corners during rough travel. They are etched “PAT APR 5, 98.”
2. The wide metal trim and wide center strip add to the overall stability. The rounded nails are a great addition.
3. The hasp includes built-in lifts, which help to raise the lid.
4. The lock works great and comes with a key. Its etched “CORBIN CABINENT LOCK CO NEW BRITIAN CONN U.S.A.”
5. Wraparound corner hardware is in great condition.
6. The ends of the hardwood slats are protected with contoured hardware.
7. The leather handles and handle hardware are original.
8. The three large rear hinges rollover the top rear edge for edge protection.
9. The top is flat, so it offers a great useable surface.
10. The bottom has rollers to help with mobility when empty or full.

Inside

1. We replaced the damaged lid stay.
2. The inside offers a nice storage area.

General Information

The inside and outside are finished with a tung oil mixture and then a light coat of satin polyurethane. The finish is waterproof and soft to the touch.

This trunk measures 32.5 inches wide, 20 inches front to back, and approximately 22 inches tall at its highest point (measurements include hardware).
